Our Team

Bio: The Meta-threads education team consists of three developmental language, literacy and learning experts. Together the team has more than a dozen years of classroom experience and nearly a decade of experience researching and writing about language, learning and literacy. Meet our team:

Chris Drew is a Literacy scholar who focuses on the relationship between readers and writers physical interactions with the tools and materials of literacy. He has spent the past three years researching and writing about the mind-body connection in literacy learning situations and he has published several essays on the topic. Among some of his most important findings is that language and literacy learning are not simply a cognitive process. To effectively enhance higher order development learners must interact frequently, socially and physically with whatever it is they are trying to learn – whether it’s language or sports or whatever. He earned his Ph.D. from Temple University in English Literacy and Language. For the past six years he has taught various courses in English at the university level. He is the inventor and President of Meta-threads.

Kelley Henry is a certified Speech Language Pathologist. She has worked for the Autism Project for the state of Illinois wherein she focused on speech and language development with children with autism. Her research interests include language development in infants and pre-K children as well as swallowing and speech disorders.

Kathryn Redmond is a Special Education teacher with a Master’s degree in primary education and curriculum design. She focuses on behavior and learning disorders. She is currently teaching math and writing classes in a special education setting. She is currently pursuing her second M.A. degree in Speech Pathology and Language Development.
